Biography

Lupus was founded in 2000 by Cecilie Enevold and Louise Tækker, when they, by coincidence, met eachother at the Copenhagen venue Stengade30. They then decided to resume a musical collaboration, which had begun in their hometown Odense in the mid 90ties. Malene joins them on bass and, after a few tries with different drummers, they hook up with Thomas Olsen and the final constellation appears: Two guitars, played by the two leadsingers of the band, bass and drums.

The music is simple and melodic, vocal harmonies and noisy guitars carry the sound, while an, often danceable, drumbeat corresponds with an energetic rhythmic bass.
The lyrics deal with the subject of living in the city; friendships and relationships, restlessness and love, a search for whatever life can hold.

In August 2005, the band started to record their debut-album Hold Me Up Against the Light Like Money, with Danish producer Morten Bue. The album was recorded in the legendary Tambourine Studios in Sweden, and in Black Tornado in Copenhagen.
The album holds 12 songs, all composed and performed by Lupus. It was released in Denmark the 10th of April 2006 by Danish label White-Out , which is run by the drummer from the Danish act Swan Lee.

Lupus have toured in Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden, and played at events like Roskilde Festival and SPOT.
