Infusing Funk, Soul and Jazz classics with a divine twist of Downtempo, Nu Jazz and Neo Soul life, Vancouver, Canada's Luscious Moov, stirs up the crowd with their energetic and interactive performances. Featuring a 6-piece band of vibes, keys, drums, bass, guitar and accompanying smoky, powerhouse vocals, Luscious Moov always sets the stage on fire!

In 2007, inspired to revive old school standards by such artists like Sade, Roy Ayers and Grace Jones with a Neo Soul/Nu Jazz flavour, Vancouver, BC musicians Patricia Raye (Lead Vocalist) and Nick Apivor (Vibraphonist, Keyboard player & Percussionist) launched their creative project, Luscious Moov. Fast forward 11 years, and Luscious Moov has grown into a full, 6-piece party band delivering non-stop, smoky, vocals perfectly married with funky, urban grooves with electronica nuances.

How does a musical landscape like Luscious Moov come to be? Where does their signature groovy, Downtempo, Funk, Soul, NuJazz, Electronica sound come from? Aside from being influenced by such artists as:  Donna Summer, Sergio Mendes, Donny Hathaway, Boz Scaggs, Isley Brothers, Billie Holliday, Dave Brubeck, Erykah Badu, Bob Marley, Everything But The Girl and Stevie Wonder…just to name a few! Lead vocalist and co-creator of the Luscious Moov project, Patricia Raye has a musical background rooted in musical theatre, Gospel, R&B, and Jazz. While Nick Apivor, The "Alchemist of Sound" on everything from vibes, marimba, keys to percussion, has more than 15 years training/experience in Classical, Jazz, Latin, R&B, Rock and New World music. Together soar over urban grooves embedded with electronica influences and deep funk

Always keeping things fresh and soulful for their audiences, Luscious Moov frequently has guest performers in their sets. Some notable past musicians have included, David Marion and A Train Boynton on bass, Brock Miller and Dominic Conway on saxophone, Mark Hoeppner and Mary Ancheta on keys, Raphael Geronimo and Miles Bigelow on drums/percussion, and Malcolm Aiken on trumpet.

Having played at festivals and events around British Columbia, including Spring Release Carnivale, Art Attack, Pride Parade and Whistler's Telus Ski & Snowboard Festival; Luscious Moov’s goal is always to promote "...a room full of people feeling sexy and loved."  Absolute performers and music-lovers, Luscious Moov is an engaging and interactive band that loves to get down and groove with the crowd!
