Bio
The Luther Badman Keith band has a highly original sound with often humourous, tongue-in-cheek lyrics and expands on the blues tradition by incorporating the influences of artists ranging from Luther Allison and Albert King, to the Doors, Santana and James Brown. Band leader Luther Badman Keith didn't pick up a guitar until he was in his thirties, after seeing his first blues show, a performance of Luther Allison, whom he considers his mentor, and did not start performing professionally until he was in his mid forties. A professional journalist by training, Keith has had a long career as a newspaper editor and columnist and took his passion for words and blended them with his love of music to develop his songwriting craft. Keith's songs remind listeners the message of the blues remains as important as the beat.
