“Formed in late 2007 by vocalist/guitarist Andy McKinnon and guitarist Liam Gallagher, Luva Gunk are a band that play it and mean it. In a current music scene that is over saturated with uninspiring bands, the current line up, completed by Nikhil Johnson (drums) and Sam Ramsden (bass) have a point to prove by playing music that not only excites and captures people but provides a live outlet for true musicianship. By mixing a blend of styles from grunge to funk, each song is a new story and collectively it should be seen to witness the true raw energy of a Luva Gunk live gig. Even though the current line up has only been playing since January of 2009, Luva Gunk have played at some very high profile UK venues including Leeds Metropolitan University, Manchester Academy, Huddersfield Student Union, Leeds Rio's, King Georges Hall and Joseph’s Well to name a few as well as having support slots with the likes of Denise Johnson (Primal Scream), Sorry And The Sinatras, and Towers Of London.”
