LV Lavor Bio

LV Lavor, known to family and friends as Lavor Robinson, was born in Jackson, MS and grew up in Leesville, LA. As a child LV’s mother consistently had him and his older brother dancing and performing for her friends to such artist as Babyface, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye, and groups such as The Isley Brothers and his favorite, Earth Wind and Fire. Listening to artist like these gave LV a love for music at a very young age. At the age of five LV first saw his father perform for an audience. From that point on LV knew that he had found his calling in life. Almost immediately LV began performing around town at various talent shows and events determined to reach his dream of being a well-known and respected recording artist.

In High School LV along with four close friends formed a group called Xcel. Although LV enjoyed the experience of singing with his friends, it was then that he realized he was meant for a solo career and parted ways after a few years. Not long after High School LV Joined the United States Air force and was stationed at Luke AFB, AZ. Never losing sight of his dreams, he consistently performed at various ceremonies and events around town. He soon began performing at military events in and out of the country. Serving his country was important to LV. He soon found himself deployed overseas on multiple deployments to places like Iraq. Even though he was living in hazard areas, LV found every chance he could to perform for his fellow troops. For him music was a way of escaping and if he could help just one fellow soldier escape the anxiety of war for just one moment, he would be fulfilled.

After serving in the military and still determined to grow as an artist, LV enrolled in the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences School in Arizona to learn Audio Engineering. After completion he then interned at the legendary Silent Sound Studios in Atlanta, GA under the instruction of famed Engineer Tom (TK) Kidd. This experience further fueled his need to show the world his talent as a singer / songwriter. Interning helped LV to learn what the business of music was all about. With this powerful knowledge and god given talent, LV embarked on his long awaited solo career. In 2013 LV co-founded TrueBusiness Records with his partner, Steve Harbison, and began the work of creating amazing music. LV is currently preparing for the 2014 release of his debut EP, “TrueEmotion” on TrueBusiness records with the lead single, “JustForTonite. Here’s a quote from TrueBusiness Ceo Steve Harbison:
