"L-Win is a talented musician who produces great rap songs with subject matter that actually means something. It’s only a matter of time before he is enjoying the levels of success shared with other young rappers such as Drake."

Elwin Coleman, otherwise known as L-Win, is a Chicago based rapper with the hopes of bringing his life experiences of growing up in a rough neighborhood to listener’s who may not realize how tough life in the inner city may be. This young, ambitious musician hopes to bridge the gap between different classes and races. With the release of his LP “Transition,” L-Win is poised to enjoy success in the Rap world. His great rap skills and ear for hot beats will be his ticket for a long career.

“Moment of Clarity” has a nice beat and his rhymes are tight. It is a song that gets your head bopping, and would do very well on the Rap charts. The background sample is hot, and the lyrics will easily get stuck in your head. “Against the Grain” is a heavy-hitting song that speaks about growing up living through life’s harsh times, getting out of it and enjoying success later in life. He raps about working hard to get where he is today, and earning all that he has now. It’s a memorable song, with L-Win’s talented rap skills on display. The lyrics have an emotional and significant educational value that stays with the listener. A more Old-School flavored song is “The Sidewalk.” It starts out with the crackling pops of an old record, and then segues into a hot beat and a funky background track that contains an vintage brass sound. Again, L-Win’s message in this song is about making his own way through hard work and perseverance. This positive premise is a refreshing change from the tired Rap songs about fast cars, big houses, and loads of bling and women. The song has a nice beat, blazing rhymes, and also a positive vibe, which all come together to produce a good, memorable song.

L-Win is a talented musician who produces great rap songs with subject matter that actually means something. It’s only a matter of time before he is enjoying the levels of success shared with other young rappers such as Drake. With the release of his new LP February 2013, L-Win will continue to provide listeners with great music for a long time to come.

Bio

Born in Chicago’s North side in the wintry month of December Elwin Coleman, better known by his rap name - “L-Win”, is a talented lyricist representing Chipper Boy Music. An 80’s baby “L-Win” lost his mother in 2000. Constant relocation throughout Chicago’s South side left Elwin with memories of the hood. He quickly learned to transform what he felt and saw into metaphorical lyrics. His intellect and wisdom from a very young age allowed Elwin to escape the rough streets of Chicago and venture into a college education at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he received Bachelors degree in Philosophy while mastering his Doctorate in rap. Elwin chose a degree in Philosophy to expand his theory of knowledge while discovering and understanding the meaning of God and higher beings. His intense 5yrs at University helped Elwin cope with the world and changed his perception of actuality and reality.

For years “L-Win” has written and recorded music. Rap especially captured the heart of this 80s baby. His greatest influences came from Rakim and Nas. “L-Win” admires their ability to speak intelligently while maintaining their ghastly demeanor. Music became an escape, a way to express self. He now uses it as a tool to reach youth from similar backgrounds; encouraging them to look outside of their circumstance to find a better way. “L-Win” also uses his music to paint a picture for the world that does not understand the life of inner cities, hoping to bridge a gap between classes and races.

Within the past year “L-Win” has made a strong commitment to getting his music heard. He released his project "Transition" last June and is following up with his new record "Skylines".
