Lxola is the current alias of Canadian Singer / Songwriter, Guitarist & Ukulele Player, Leela Holt. The name Lxola, an acknowledgment to the darker electronic side of her newest music as opposed to her humble beginnings as a purely acoustic performer.
It is an intoxicating mix of her smooth and sultry voice & provocative song themes Leela’s music to life. With a repertoire of original music that stems far beyond her years, Leela, was raised just outside of Toronto, ON and is now residing in Vancouver, BC. Her first debut single, titled “Follow”, is set to be released August 1st, 2018, produced by Vancouver’s Cody Taylor of Fiend Recordings. Leela is also currently working on 5 more songs set to be released throughout the fall of 2018 & spring of 2019 along with a music video.
With a jazz pianist for a father, a music lover for a mother and a rock guitarist for an uncle, it is no wonder that Leela fell in love with writing, singing & performing at a young age. Growing up listening mainly to jazz, folk & classic rock has greatly influenced her vocal/ guitar stylings as well as her writing. Through years of vocal lessons, songwriting workshops, creative writing courses, live performances & collaborations, Leela has developed a style all of her own.
