Bio

Struggle: great effort made over a period of time to overcome difficulties or achieve something.

Struggles have always been a part of my life. My first struggle began as a child being raised by my mother in a single parent home. We lived in a low-income community better known as the “projects”. In my hometown we call it the “Compound”. In the Compound, the sound of gun shots, street fights, and illegal activity were a reality. My mother had to deal with the struggle of raising three children. One outlet that she used to relieve stress was to listen to music. She would play her favorite records like “Ring My Bell“ by Anita Ward, so music has always been a part of my life. It never occurred to me at that time that I would one day produce music.
As a teenager I would beat-bopp in class with my friend Robert Louis. He went on to join a group called Bass Patrol. Although I liked music, I had other things on my mind like my family. My mother began drinking heavily, which was taking a drastic effect on our family. The struggle with my family and my mother left me feeling as though I had no where to turn except the streets. I began to sell narcotics, smoke marijuana, and in the end use narcotics(cocaine). I indulged in drugs for five years. During those years, I began to produce music. Things started going down hill fast. The cocaine and drugs became my primary focus and I lost my job, my car was repossessed, and I lost my place to live. I was now at rock bottom. This was the point that I realized I needed the Lord, so I laid my life before him. Laying my life down included the struggles with my family, the drugs, the women, and the my worldly music . I told the Lord that I would make music for him. I also asked him to anoint me so that I can help deliver this generation from the hand of the enemy through rap music. This generation is captivated with money, sex and bling-bling. I want to set an example for them. I want to show them that God can give them those same things by living a righteous life. Once I dedicated my life to God I was inspired to call my ministry “NEW TESTAMENT”. I am called “LYFE” Because Jesus came to give Lyfe. (John 10:10b; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.) So out of obedience I am turning a generation’s mess into a generation’s blessing because only what we do for Christ is going to last.
