Lynch

Lynch is the Chicago based quartet that plays solid rock music which combines style of eighties rock music with some modern basis. Their music is simple, but somehow it carries much of beauty and freshness inside the sound. Simply, album is very enjoyable for every day listening, songs are soulful and well arranged with dynamic solos and very dashing leads and riffs. Interesting part of the album are vocals from Danny Lynch, which are full emotions and sound both gentle and rocking, carrying much of that 80’s vibe in its approach. Rhythm section has its moments, but mostly they are following frontal work of guitar. Production is a little bit tin, but that doesn’t affects much on sound of this guys, as quality and technical skills are visible from every tone of the album. Very cool album, but only with seven songs on it. Too bad that band didn’t go for more tracks, but on the other side, we’ll see how future will greet them. Highlights of the album: ‘’1724’’, ‘’Wash me’’ and ‘’Be There’’.

Now here we have a very interesting cool sounding Melodic Hardrock indie from the US of A. The Chicago based band LYNCH should not be confused with LYNCH MOB, because this LYNCH is formed around vocalist DANNY LYNCH and they play cool pure 80s tough uptempo Melodic Hardrock. They sound and remind me very much of classic independent 80s (and some 90s) stuff like NINJA, KNOW ILLUSION, LIXX, BRITTON, RECKLESS, TALAS, TALON, VOXEN, TEER and a little STRYPER/WHITE LION. Danny has a great strong voice and if somebody would say this is a rare 1985 vinyl release I would instantly believe it. This does not mean that LYNCH sounds dated… In fact, it should be seen as a compliment, because it shows there are still bands active in the underground scene in the USA playing cool 80s Melodic Hardrock without tuning down the guitar, which is a good thing if you ask me! The band’s guitarist MIKE BURKE rips easily through the 7 included songs, giving them the finishing 80s touch! Definitely a nice band to check out and a must-have for any fan of Classic 80s US Style Melodic Hardrock. Lynch suggest what Candlebox might’ve sounded like before someone turned them into a grunge band. Coming from the non-jackass/Tesla school of pop metal, Window Of Your Soul leaves hundreds of musical stones unturned, but sounds rather comfortable in its shoes. Well-rehearsed and relaxed, the band skip genre affectations (blinding solos, laughable lyricism) and let the songwriting behind a standout like “Wash Me” survive as is. Particularly reassuring is vocalist Danny Lynch, who has chances to overpower at every turn but lets them pass – which shows more personality than any howling vibrato ever did. (www.lynch-rocks.com)
