Bio

When it comes to the blues, The Lyndon Anderson Band have all the bases covered, whether it's a 1950's Chess classic, a chunk of 70's funk, a rocking Texas shuffle, jazz influenced west coast swing or one of their many originals, they play it all with style, authority and taste. From Lightning Hopkins to the Meters and beyond, they mix up a red hot gumbo of groove with tunes from the likes of Muddy Waters, James Brown, Little Walter, Junior Parker and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
Whether he's blasting out lightning fast chromatic runs or digging deep down into a bent note, there's no mistaking Lyndon is a true heavyweight of the harp. He blends elements of jazz, blues and funk whilst still remaining true to tradition. Considered by many to be one of the top players on the scene today, his emotional and intense playing is unmistakably one of a kind. Dynamite harp, soulful, muscular vocals, boogaloo guitar work, songwriter, producer; the list goes on, but all that needs to be said is that Lyndon is without doubt the real thing.
You know something must be good when you win praise from the likes of Sugar Blue and Paul LamB

Together with guitarist Davey Dormand, whose skills as sideman have been sought after by many visiting US stars, femme fatale bass player Christine Wilson and veteran drummer Kev Hodge, who has toured the globe playing every genre of music imagineable, they produce their own distinctive brand of blues; described as:
" a sure cure for the rhythmically deficient "

Having performed at the some of the most prestigious music festivals, including Edinburgh Jazz Festival, The Great British R&B Festival, and Stanley Blues Festival, performing to an audience of over 12,000, as well as countless bars and clubs, they are winning new fans at every turn. Due to release there second album after the hugely popular 2005 release 'Take My Order', which received national and international airplay, and critical acclaim, they are also featured in a forthcoming TV documentary about the blues.

Their native Tyneside fans have known for some time what audiences further afield are just now starting to discover, that the L-A-B are without doubt one of the most original, innovative and exciting acts touring the blues circuit today
