BandLatinAdult Contemporary

When people ask me, "What do you do for living?" I say, "I'm a Rock & Roll artist". Rock & Roll is what I was born to do. I sing in English and Spanish. I can do a great solo gig or wail on the microphone with a rockin band behind me. I'm versatile. My songs will move you.

Just like everything else, Rock and Roll is bigger
and better in Texas, and representing Texas
in this arena is Lynette Brehm. From the early
age of four Lynette was strutting through her San Antonio living room stretching her vocal chords
and belting out tunes. At seven years old Lynette added the recorder to her arsenal. Lynette's
grandmother was a professional opera singer in the San Antonio Opera Company and one of the fi rst Hispanic women to sing on the radio in Texas in the 1920s and 1930s. Lynette saw this growing
up and realized it was perfectly normal to be bold. Lynette's grandmother and recorder were
replaced by AC/DC, Black Crows, the Rolling Stones, and a Gibson Les Paul. Picking up the
guitar was as natural as could be, it compliments the energy within and it makes Lynette one of
the most genuinely “Rock and Roll” performers on the scene today. Combining English and Spanish
language material is one of the ingredients which has set Lynette apart from the rest. She
is proud to represent her roots … all of them! Lynette rocks with the best of them, especially on
stage. “There's nothing else like it, “ she says. “When I'm playing live, every bone in my body is engaged and I don't know what's coming next. It's pure self-expression. I start down beat one at 100% intensity and emotion and I go up from there, each song after that. It a word—it ROCKS!”
The intensity of Lynette's material is not limited to just the music; the lyrical content and the motivation behind every song is equally important. “My songs are meant to inspire people to reach beyond their current vision and to take action to live their dreams. What it takes to live your dreams is Courage and Action.” Lynette takes a page from her own book by doing something
most other artists don't. One of her original songs, “Can I Come Over?” requires her to perform
solo with just her guitar as back-up. Pretty gutsy when you have a full band by your side but you
decide to go it alone.
Lynette spends her time recording new material with award winning producers, rockin' the crowds
in Hollywood and Texas, and jamming with as many other musicians she can find. She carries
the flag of Rock and Roll with pride; she IS bigger and better than the rest!
Let's Rock!

Summer Day

Written By: Lynette Brehm

Let’s take a ride down the street
You and me and see who we can meet
Take the wheel then take my hand
No one else can make me feel like you can
The top’s down, we’re lookin’ good
Everyone’s wishin’ that they could
We’re singing loud and we’re singing high
I’m watchin’ all the cars go by

A few more minutes and we’ll be there
We’re headed outside to anywhere

La la la la la la la on the radio
Call a friend and grab a cold one, let’s go
Singing Beatles and The Killers
On the radio
You and me on a summer day

Let’s take a ride, let’s all get high
Bet I can make you laugh till you cry
Let’s catch some sun and see a show
We ain’t got no where to go
Sleep late and chill all day
We’ll watch the sun go down on Sunset way
Take a photo so we don’t forget
These are the best times yet

Talkin ‘bout last weekend and what we did
It the hottest summer that’s its ever been

Sometimes I try so hard to figure you out
But I just don't know and I keep on missin out
You go one way and I go another
It seems we never come together

So I sit and think
Where did I go wrong
Did I miss the sign?
Did I cross that line?
Did I miss forever yeah

Why can't you believe
And why can't you love me
Yeah Yeah
You know we're meant to be together
Why can't you see
Its all right here with you and me
Yeah yeah
You know we're meant to be together

So I sit here now and I write this song
Since I can't be with you
I might as well just sing along
But I hate it I can't take it
A night alone in this room
My imagination keeps bringing me round and round
Then back to you

Can’t you see what’s being said behind my eyes
Its right there
You don’t have to look
Very far to realize
