BandRockSinger/Songwriter

Metaphors and fairy tales. Piano, heavy guitars and angelic vocals. For fans of classic rock, and everyone who likes to indulge in some melancholy.

Biography

Music has always been a part of Lynn's life. Originally Belgian, She started studying singing, musical theory and piano at age 10 and later on finished the Conservatory program in classical voice.
“My teacher really encouraged me to continue in that field. Instead, I came to New York only 20 years old, with two suitcases, and started writing rock music.”
She didn’t have a piano, so she borrowed the Steinway that ones belonged to Rachmaninoff and that was donated to the Columbia Medical School after his death.
“I knew someone there who sneaked me in every morning, as I wasn’t supposed to use it as a non-student”

Lynn’s been playing out acoustically and put together a full band which led to performances at venues such as the Bitter End, Snitch, Kenny’s Castaways, Plumm and most recently a self-produced album. “I love well structured, simple tunes that is are all about the melody. And I like to write about life in metaphors and fairy tales.
Songwise, I’m inspired by artists such as Aerosmith, Blondie, Heart as well as Carole King and Carly Simon.
Lynn recently became a real New Yorker, as she was granted a green card by the US government for extraordinary ability in music.

Sky Princess

SKY PRINCESS

VERSE 1
She cries real tears but made of blood
And venum is flowing through her veins
A heart as cold as ice
And rainbows make her cry
But when the moonlight rises

CHORUS

She walks on clouds and runs the skies
She can almost touch the stars
And when the daylight rises
She spreads her wings and flies away
To a place where roses don’t grow
And the sun don’t shine
Ashes instead of snow
She melts away…

The queen of the night.

VERSE 2
No were to go, into the night
A bright white unicorn she rides
Shadows covering
a face once mesmerizing
and when the moonlight smiles at her

BRIDGE

Sometimes a lie
Sometimes reality
Imagine living in a lucid dream
and when she wakes up she can hear
the sound of her own fears

CHORUS

Cant Make This Right

Written By: Lynn Verleyen

You're the one who said goodbye
why are you looking so confused?
there's no need to be surprised;

Im the one who walk away
from all the stupid games you play
I'm so tired off your lies

I still remember how you said you'd never leave
Now you are begging to come back to me?
Cant make this right.

You can paint me a rainbow in the sky
You can climb me a mountain way up high
but you can't make this right
You can whisper a love song in my ear, try and cry me your crocodile tears.
You cant make this right

You're the one who ran and hide,
do you really think I'd stay around?
I've got a life to live.
I'm not sure if I understand, cause many of the things you say,
just don't make sense to me.

I still remember how you promised me the stars,
there is no reason to believe you know
Cant make this right.

You can paint me a rainbow in the sky
You can climb me a mountain way up high
but you can't make this right
You can whisper a love song in my ear, try and cry me your crocodile tears.
You cant make this right.

If you thought she'd be so much better than me,
now you know life is not a fairy tale
Cant make this right,

You can paint me a rainbow in the sky
You can climb me a mountain way up high
but you can't make this right
You can whisper a love song in my ear, try and cry me your crocodile tears.
You cant make this right

Hey Dad

Written By: Lynn Verleyen

Hey daddy hope you're fine,
I haven't talked to you,
in the longest time.

I just want you to know,
I can hear your voice,
in my dreams at night.

In those dreams we would walk across the foamy beaches.
You would show me the different kinds of birds that flew around the bright blue sky, around the bright blue sky.

Hey dad one of these days,
will you let me know,
if heaven's a nicer place.

I feel you all around, but still I cant deny how much I miss you.
Only fifteen , I wish we could've spend more time together.
Isn't it unfair, how it's hard to hold on to the ones you love the most?
