Having evolved from Perth's renowned Funk Club all members share similar funk influences from James Brown, The Meters, Sharon Jones, Lee Fileds, Eddie Bo, Parliament and Curtis Mayfield to the more recent influences of Quantic Soul Orchestra, Breakestra, Jamiroqui and The Bamboos. Lysistrata bring old skool funk and deliver it to the masses of today. Receiving accolades from Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings when performing in support, a debut EP getting national airplay and interest and stellar live performances to sell-out crowds are just some of the reasons Lysistrata are tagged as the next jewel to come from the music womb of Perth.
