Bio
I have always wanted to play guitar and when I was twelve I got my first real acoustic guitar. I started taking lessons at a local music store but didn't pay enough attention to learn anything except Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
In the beginning of 2002, I really got serious about wanting to play songs with other people. I started attending the worship practices at my church and became a member of the team. I have been playing with them for about 3 1/2 years. I have learned what it takes to play with more than one other person and what makes the music sound good.
About a year and a half ago was when I got interested in bluegrass and was enticed by the challenge it presented. The first bluegrass concert I went to was Doc and Richard Watson with David Holt. That was when I decided I wanted to learn to play bluegrass guitar. A few months later, I met my current guitar teacher, Jody King.
My songwriting has been influenced by Bill Mallonee, Dave Matthews and Jennifer Knapp.
My music has been influenced by Tony Rice, Alison Krauss, Jennifer Knapp and Nickel Creek.
