Bio
The duo behind the wheel of Lythion, Ilyana Kadushin and James Harrell, fuse bluesy torch songs and post-modern confessional music with a dollop of funk and a touch of glam rock thrown in for good measure. They met in a recording studio in New york City in '99 and have been writing and performing together ever since. Ilyana is the lead vocalist as well as lyricist and co-writes and produces the songs with James, who is a multi-instrumentalist, engineer and producer. At times, the pair share the stage with video projections that intertwine with the musical score to tell stories that run the gamut from social and political commentary to humorous narratives to mesmerizing eye candy. The dynamic between their lyrics, music and multi media create an all encompassing experience that has been compared to: Queen, David Bowie, Portishead, Ween, Cinema scores and rock musicals; all of which have been influences to them as musicians. They have started creating original music for television and film such as Nickelodeon and independent films and documentaries.
