M E K H A I

The Philadelphia born Hip Hop artist has emerged on the scene quite gracefully, while making a name for herself.

A respected songwriter, vocal producer, hip hop artist and actress, there is no limit to what M E K H A I can do.  She is no stranger to the "grind" as it is often referred to in tag lines, and rap songs, it has become her life.

With a fervent and unwavering determination for success, she will stop at nothing to achieve it. She has a keen sense on what it takes to make it to the top, thanks to those who have paved the way, and an unapologetic approach to making it happen, with much hard work.

Whether she's on stage, on the big screen or blasting through your speakers, you can rest assured what she's giving you is M E K H A I 100%. This mentality is what has allowed her to accomplish much of the success she's seen thus far.

You may have seen her in award winning theater projects such as,"VI DEGREES, traveling across the country selling out shows with controversial productions such as "SECRET SOCIETY" or rocking out live at some of Philadelphia's major concert venues. Ms.Mekhai has an incredible way of penetrating the hearts, souls and minds of her audience, as many travel up and down the Tri-state to her sold out shows.

Theater trained, M E K H A I has performed in a vast amount of plays, films, appeared on tv and radio.  She's opened up for RCA recording artist, Miguel. Her work has caught the attention of Atlanta based, hit producer, Jazze Pha (Ciara, Girliscious), Philadelphia based production team NoizeTrip (Black Eye Peas, Pink) and LA based production team, Phatboi (John Legend). Currently in the studio working on projects for the spring 2014.

A theater award winner herself, M E K H A I has worked with notable, "chart topping" producers, and has shared the stages with some of Black Hollywood's A-list award winners.  M E K H A I subscribes to the sacrifice it takes to see her dreams come to fruition. She believes there's no room for "getting comfortable" in this ever changing world of entertainment. Staying on her toes is what keeps her in the game.

She has a contagious love for music, acting, and inspiring others to follow their dreams, whatever they maybe.  M E K H A I is also the CEO and founder of The Dirty Beautiful Organization, Inc. A child advocacy group for at-risk and delinquent girls, ages 10-18.  A vision she's had since early 2011, she's very passionate about helping to encourage young adults and teens by providing a platform that encourages self development, leadership, learning, positive decision making, and healthy living by highlighting the fact that everything we do is a choice.

Often garnering the title "Storyteller" the somewhat shy artist, leaves no room for misconception. Her lyricism is as real as it gets. With angst and honest emotion, M E K H A I paints the picture of her stories vividly and melodically. Her infectious live performance will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and undoubtedly make you a fan for life.

A songwriter and vocal producer as well, M E K H A I brings the world new flavor of music. The fusion of storytelling-rap- and main stream pop cultures. Known for having a strong no-nonsense work ethic,discipline and crazy writing skills M E K H A I  possesses an uncanny ability to express emotion through 'real' lyricism and infectious melodies. Working with some of the city's notable musicians, M E K H A I has had the opportunity to make history on stage and in the studio. Her band mates have traveled across the world touring with major recording artists such as John Legend, Lauryn Hill, Bilal, N'dambi, Res and more.

Music crept into her life at the tender age of seven, and has been with her since then. She is now prepared to share it with the world. A very spiritual, God fearing, young woman, M E K H A I indubitably believes that this is what God has placed her here to do- to deliver a message through artistic expression, and she will do to the best of her ability with integrity and humility.

With a completion of another project around the corner and record label interest. 2014 has the potential of being a big year for this triple threat. Be sure to catch her on stage in a city or college campus near you!
