First influenced by the acoustic folkies from the 60's (Joni, Bob, Gordon Lightfoot), I gradually became intrigued with more blues oriented music (Sonny Terry, Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt).

My first gig was with a country band, where I came to appreciate the work of Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, etc. I also have a great love of classic jazz and have sung and performed all the standards with various quartets, trios and big bands.

All of these influences are present in my compositions, which makes for a unique blend. My love of humour and wordplay, combined with all these influences and my years of studying and performing in many genres, sets me apart from the most guitar strumming solo artists.
