When Marie’s father passed away in 2010 she closed off to the world until it was as if her father spoke to her from spirit - through a photograph. He was playing drums, smiling alongside of his band. Life sparked again, and the depth of loss, hope and ultimate salvation from crippling grief inspired her lyrics and music, and anyone that is honoured to hear Marie’s songs can truly feel the soul and the depth of her journey.
Marie began singing at 3 years of age and when she joined the Holy Family Parish Choir at the age of 6, she started writing songs and playing the piano. With love of everything from Rock through to Hiphop, from Jazz to Rap and Country to RnB, Marie’s love of a real groove, ultimate lyrics and great bass line flowed naturally in choosing Reggae as her main genre.
Her parents remain her life, soul and inspiration of her music.
