The writing for Mabel 1918 began to take form around October 2011 when the musical accompaniment started flowing with the words. Thanks in part to Chase Francis, Mabel 1918 was able to produce the backbone of the future four song EP "Clean" through emailed attachments of guitar riffs and percussion.
Chelsey Henson and Jesse Brown bought into Mabel 1918 around March 2012. Jesse's style of drumming meshed well with the spacious guitar riffs and Chelsey's glockenspiel/synth combo added a depth to the sound.
By May 5th Phil Secrest joined in to play the low end.
Since that date Mabel 1918 has played San Antonio, Austin, and Lubbock TX and has recorded from scratch with engineer/producer Michael McCay. Their debut EP "Clean" was released November 2012 and is available online at bandcamp.
Mabel 1918 bolstered their sound at the turn of 2013 with additional instruments, added vocal patterns, and a heavier schedule. Maintaining the 2013 momentum, Mabel 1918 is set to release their second EP "Reach" in mid July.
