"Scene Point"

"Red in Tooth and Claw doesn't have any songs, in my eyes anyway, that dominate over the others. And that's a good thing! Rarely does an album have a collection of songs strong enough that you don't favor some tunes over others. Maybe my tone will change in time. But right now I love the album as a whole. I will say this, though. The record would have made my top 25 of '06 had I known about it. You guys have a very unique sound. It's familiar, but still not easily placed in a particular genre -- nor can you really be compared with specific artists. We here at rabbitholemusic.com and scenepointblank.com will be watching you closely." -Marlen Austin - Marlen Austin

"An Outsider's View"

Machines that Think- Their intense, driven and evocative music dabbles in the undeniable realm of the profound throughout. The unique complexity is framed within a vigorous high octane package so that it rocks to the point where it details compliment the heaviness rather than distract as can be the case with some prog. In other words, if you aren't digging the rockin' grooves of this band, it's not their fault....it's your fault and you must suck. - Fan Mag

Bio

The Machines are a diverse group from distinctly different backgrounds. In a different time, in a different place, they would be hard pressed to find anything in common. Their paths would have most likely never crossed. The members may hail from three different continents, but make no mistake, this is a Chicago band and embody the diversity of the large city in their music and their character. Their music exudes a melancholy tone but is filled with a sense of urgency and genuine sincerity that most bands currently lack or fail to fully convey. On their second release, the diverse group have found common ground in the universal ties that bind us all. Sometimes their message is expressed through the hollow bell of a ride cymbal, sometimes it finds its way through the dense wall of a distorted kick drum. In every note, in every hit, that connection is made and you're with them every step of the way.
