Bio

Music to me-and art in general- is exposure... in it's most organic form. There is no way to completely describe how I feel in words, but somehow there's always a way in my music. My work is 100% truth- true experience, true emotion, true beliefs. My hope is that people can find that inner empathy to connect in one way or another.
As for my genre: it's difficult to put to words. My songs start with a seed, (an idea, feeling, experience etc,) and I find a way to plant that into a melody, lyrics, and a chord progression. It is in whatever genre the seed blossoms into that the song is labeled as.
I've been singing ever since I learned to speak. When I was about 10 years old, I started taking singing lessons. My current singing teacher, who I've been taking from since the 6th grade, is a major influence in my life, music, and vocal technique. My brother, who is a student at Berklee College of music studying jazz drums, has influenced my music taste all my life. He introduced me to folk, jazz, indie music and much more. Some of my major influences are Joanna Newsom, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Dear Hunter, and much more.
I started writing poetry at an early age. I wrote about whatever caught my eye or whatever ideas came to mind. It wasn't until about 5th grade when I started putting melodies to poems.
About 3 years ago in the 8th grade, I started taking guitar lessons. I then started putting chords to melodies, and in the winter of 8th grade, I wrote my first official song. I have been writing songs ever since.
I have been performing since an early age with singing recitals, musical theater, and gigs at open mics, charity events, opening up for local bands and even a local movie premier.
My first album is in the process of being mixed and will be released very soon. It will also be featuring Demetrius Jackson on drums and piano.
