Bio

Born into an artistic family, MadLyn began performing at age 3 and has been passionate about entertaining audiences ever since. Growing up in Southern California, she would begin to train her powerful vocals with a wide range of influences including Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, and Billy Joel. She tragically lost her mother to breast cancer when she was just 13, and after that began to immerse herself completely in songwriting and pop music.

After deferring her acceptance into the Berklee College of Music in Boston to study songwriting, MadLyn was cast in her first feature film, "Elena Undone," which premiered at Outfest in 2010. In addition to playing a supporting character in the movie, MadLyn wrote and recorded "Suddenly," an original song that was featured in the film and on its soundtrack. Years of developing her craft have now led MadLyn to writing songs for other artists, including European pop sensation, Suzanna Lubrano, recording the title track for the film "Wheels," appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! singing background vocals for bands like Youngblood Hawke and Thirty Seconds to Mars, as well as recording vocals on the latest Jared Leto / Thirty Seconds to Mars album, "LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS." MadLyn has also co-written with some of the music industry's most prestigious songwriters including the legendary Billy Steinberg and critically acclaimed Ken Hirsch.

MadLyn performs on a regular basis at various venues throughout the US, entertaining audiences both as a solo act and with her other awesome band members. Her original music combines honest and self-aware songwriting along with her quirky piano playing & pop sensibilities. On February 17th 2015, MadLyn released her first official music video and single, "Kiss Me Goodbye." Within the first month of "Kiss Me Goodbye’s" release, the music video on YouTube reached over 100,000 views, gaining popularity amongst Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms. On March 21st 2015, the single reached its way to #1 on the National Airplay Top 50 Independent Radio Chart, and since then reached its way to #10 on the National Airplay Top 50 Rock Chart. On May 8th 2015 MadLyn released her 2nd single and official music video “If You Were Mine” in honor of her mother’s birthday. Within it’s first week of release, “If You Were Mine” accumulated over 24,000 views on YouTube. Following the success of her first two singles, MadLyn released a personal, special music video & song she wrote in her mother’s memory, “I Call Her Mom.” MadLyn made the choice before the song’s release on October 1st 2015, that for the entire month of October, 100% of all digital sales made from the song would be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

However, MadLyn's work with the NBCF began way before the campaign in October 2015. In early 2014, MadLyn created, hosted, & performed in the ongoing breast cancer fundraising music event, "The Siren Song,” in association with The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).  “The Siren Song"  had a bi-monthly residency at "The WitZend" in Venice Beach, CA for a year and a half, featuring MadLyn and other up-and-coming singer songwriters in the LA area, and has since expanded into other arenas, continuing to build a very close and enriching artistic community. The NBCF and MadLyn have now partnered to bring this event to Southern CA college campuses, creating a college tour for the cause. This tour is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2016 during the month of October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (dates coming soon).

MadLyn's newest single, music video, & behind the scenes miracle story documentary "Will You Take Me Home," were released on August 5th 2016. In less than a month, the music video on youtube has accumulated over 60k views, and its corresponding miracle story has reached over 30k views. MadLyn is excited to continue working creatively, and to see what the near future holds in store.
