Bio
Recently moving from sunny Flagstaff, AZ to the tradition-rich mountains of western North Carolina, Corinne Diggins has been performing at both small and large stages from Alaska to Delaware. Influenced by early blues music and a line of folk musicians (Matt Bauer, Joanna Newsome, Will Oldham, Bowerbirds), Diggins has played at larger festivals like Pickin' In the Pines Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival (2007 and 2008) and the Alaska Folk Festival (2008), as well as opening for Canadian folk group Po' Girl and slam poet C.R. Avery. She has also met and gotten a chance to show her skills to several well-known musicians, such as banjo player Jens Kruger (Kruger Brothers) and Dom Flemons (Carolina Chocolate Drops). Her skills on two-finger minstrel style banjo and smoky vocals, along with her ability to transform traditional tunes and write sharp originals, makes her a festival favorite and a crowd pleaser.
