Corinne Diggins

Corinne Diggins's music is drenched in old-time, traditional blues and ragtime music with hints of country and bluegrass. With fraile vocals that sound like a wren from the foothills of the Appalachian mountains and jarring banjo riffs, Diggins takes you back to simpler times where music was move inviting and raw. Diggins grew up in Delaware listening to folk music. In college she began to listen to old time blues and bluegrass and picked up the guitar. Before moving to Lexington, Kentucky, Diggins picked-up the banjo and began playing old-time songs in a two-finger style, versus the more popular three-fingered Earl Scruggs style. Not wanting to be stereotyped into the bluegrass genre just because she plays the banjo, Diggins plays with a more blues and ragtime inspired style. After moving to northern Arizona, she stumbled on Flagstaff's underground music scene and began playing shows and festivals all over Arizona, most notably her performance at the Pickin' In The Pines Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival which headlined David Grisman. After meeting Jens Kruger of the Kruger Brothers at Pickin' In the Pines, Kruger said the Diggins had one of the most old-timey voices he had ever heard. She has also played at the Alaska Folk Festival and opened for C.R. Avery and Po' Girl.
