Bio

North Carolina native Madonna Nash has been singing for as long as she can remember.

“As a child, I used to do shows in my backyard for all the other neighborhood kids,” she said. “And I started writing songs when I was a teenager”.

Like any seasoned songwriter, Nash draws from experience when she writes her lyrics, from the edgy sensuality of Dirty Little Secret to the raw emotion of Beautiful.

“Of all the songs I’ve written, Beautiful is one of my favorites,” she said. “It definitely sends a positive message to women. More women need to own their beauty, and not let someone else decide for them what is beautiful and what is not.”

Nash comes from a very musical family. Her father toured the country playing guitar, and her mother was an honors graduate in music from East Carolina University. Nash’s great great uncle was Connie B. Gay, founding president of the Country Music Association (CMA).

Nash grew up listening to such legends as Patsy Cline (who made her TV debut on Nash’s great great uncle’s Town & Country TV show), Reba McEntire, and Dolly Parton. Nash cites Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, and Keith Urban as a few of her current favorites. Though the music business of today is very competitive, Nash has skillfully managed to carve out a niche for herself with her sultry vocals and high energy stage show.

"My songs are definitely country, but when you listen to them, you’ll find hints of rock, pop, and blues, too. It’s just good, fun music," she said.

2009 was a banner year for Nash. She was nominated “Female Country Artist of the Year” at the Carolina Music Awards, and she’s performed with numerous popular acts such as Gretchen Wilson, Gloriana, Josh Thompson, Sarah Buxton, Jason Michael Carroll, Cravin’ Melon, Edwin McCain, and more. (A video of Madonna Nash’s duet with Edwin McCain can be found in the “VIDEOS” section of this website.)

2010 is shaping up to be an even more exciting year for Nash. Working with producers Dave Demay of Nashville, TN, and Charles Fulp (producer of multiple Top 20 BILLBOARD hits), Nash has signed with Mad Charm Records and has just finished recording her debut album. All of the songs on this album were written/co-written by Nash.

“Things are finally starting to fall into place for me. I know this is the right time, and I am right where I need to be,” said a confident and glowing Madonna Nash.
