Bio

Assembled in the slums of Toronto in 2003, Madrid is Burning has provoked crowds across Ontario with their hybrid of aggressive post-hardcore, noise, funk and stoner rock. Adhering to their mantra of “keeping it dangerous”, the quartet has a proven tradition of energetic, antagonistic and ballsy stage shows.

Madrid is Burning has garnered scene credit in its short life-span for its uniqueness in a sea of breakdowns and repetitions. Described by some as a bastard son of Kyuss and Refused, Madrid is Burning is a rock n’ roll potluck of unapologetic vocals, crushing punk beats and guitars as odes to the old school.

Labeled by one critic as a band to “bookmark in your mind”, Madrid is Burning has garnered interest from labels, magazines and promoters. This had led the band to play with the likes of Sleeper Set Sail (Sonic Unyon), Burn the 8 Track (Abacus), The Vulcan Dub Squad and I Can Put My Arm Back On But You Can't.

Madrid is Burning’s influences have an eccentric range: the Abandoned Hearts Club, Kyuss, Folly, Minor Threat, Refused. While stylistically diverse, the band has been able to craft a coherent albeit different sound.

Madrid is Burning includes Richard Adshead (guitar), Jake Parsonson (drums), Matthew Adshead (vocals/bass) and Elliot Pobjoy (vocals).
