"Joe Atari - London Promoter/DJ"

'Mad Staring Eyes make music that tugs at your heartstrings as much as your bootlaces.'

- Joe Atari

"Resonance FM"

'North London's finest exponents of Americana, Mad Staring Eyes are an Avant-Country family band akin to The Carter Family but with London accents and a contemporary edge. Their live session here blew us all away.'
Resonance FM (Bonanza & Son) - Martyn Bonanza

"Transparent"

"Music to make you dance, cry, laugh and sing all at once." - Will Vollar Bell

"NME"

"They sound like the Virgin Radio and XFM playlists - combined by some kind of mad scientist..." - Krissi Murison

"XFM"

"The must have, must see band of the moment" - Claire Dickinson

"Radio 1"

"They make me feel unsafe and I love that! Cool, interesting and edgy music. Something's gonna go off here!" - Emma B

"4AD"

"Music that leaves you wanting more..." - Ed Horrox

"Maps Magazine"

"They've done it again! Mad Staring Eyes have captured that late 80's sound. In just under three minutes we have something of a tight, fast-paced, infectious anti-love song [Talk Dirty single] that we can sing our hearts out to (and perhaps even relate to). The melodic guitar riff is perfectly played out from an instrument that sounds like the strings haven't been changed since 1987. Alex Jay's voice adds impact to the subject matter by the way in which spiteful words are spat out during the to-the-point verses, yet sound so desperate during the chorus. This is tougher than tough love baby, and it's all wrapped up in one brilliant single." - Nancy Roxx
