The members of Mad Tantra met through the Chico music community and played their first show together in the fall of 2015. Audience members have compared their live shows to The Doors, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, and Sublime. Mad Tantra has opened for notable acts such as Coolio, The Stone Foxes, Human Ottoman, Evolfo, Roosevelt Collier, Royal Jelly Jive, Jelly Bread
Mad Tantra just released their debut album, “Divided,” and are in the process of recording their second. Inspired by psychedelic rock & electronic music, Divided tells the story of a young person opening their eyes to the world around them. The album is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp.
Recorded at Green Day’s Jingletown Studios in Oakland, CA, Mad Tantra's second album "HEAD" is currently being mastered and scheduled for release in the Spring of 2017. Contrary to Divided's fusion of organic and synthetic sounds, HEAD features fully live instrumentation, capturing Mad Tantra's raw energy and eclectic style.
