Mae Krell is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter based in New York City. On the surface, they look like your average teenager: they wear their hair occasionally pink and sport a band T-shirt whenever they can; they hang out at rock shows and love watching Post Malone’s early acoustic videos on Youtube. However, Mae has a gift for being both a normal teenager and a vulnerable musician. Before setting foot on a stage, Mae got their start in the music industry photographing concerts, most notably, shooting Governer's Ball for Rolling Stone Magazine at the age of 17. Soon after, they premiered their debut single, "Scars" with Clover Letter on July 15th, 2016, who crowned them your "next favorite singer-songwriter." Mae's second single, "Monsters", was released on Halloween 2016, and has received extensive praise since then, boasting more than a quarter million streams on Spotify. Mae's debut EP, Anabasis, released on February 16th, 2018, with AudioFuzz hailing it as “the sound of the future… Mae Krell is a force to be reckoned with.” that summer, they went on a cross country tour through 22 states and 35 cities. Mae’s success comes from their ability to share the most vulnerable parts of growing up in 2018, and their habit of being both lively and emotionally intimate on stage has a way of lifting everyone’s hearts, no matter how heavy they seem.
