Bio

The intersection of heavenly bodies and astronomical events. A meeting of earth and sky. Natural elements and urban rhythms. Created in 2010 in Seattle, Maestro Sidereus and the Mysterious Syzygy bring a wealth of worldly experience with a flow of natural talent. They will transport you to a memory of audial nostalgia for a place you never knew you were before; somewhere both familiar and foreign both at the same time. Its American based global beats set to a retro soundtrack.

Maestro Sidereus himself (aka Richard Stoops) is a self-taught drummer and engineer from the heart of America. He keeps his pulse on the rhythms of society and translates it into their tracks. He has been involved in several creative and technical projects including support for Bongo Boy Music and engineering a DVD for award winning artist Suzanne Ciani. He not only sets the stage for the production of the project’s music but also plays acoustic and electronic drums; depending on what the music calls for both in studio and at live performances.

The Mysterious Syzygy is identical twin performers Audra Page and Elke Hautala. Classically trained vocalists with vibrant mirror image personas and voices; one fiery, soulful jazz and the other cool, angelic quicksilver. Audra and Elke grew up singing together in everything from church choir to musical theater on the east coast. Audra followed her heart to electronica and has performed in a variety of projects both in Seattle and LA including Scout, Angel Alabaster and 2011 LA music awards Dance nominee Wunderbugg. Elke also has a myriad of entertainment industry experience in performance and recording projects in Seattle and LA; including work with renowned producer Genuine Childs, her self-titled solo acoustic project, local Seattle Americana group Tin Can Tobacco Band and Wunderbugg with Audra. Both ladies have graced many Seattle venues including the Columbia City Theater, Studio Seven, The Last Supper Club, Rendezvous, Murphy’s Pub etc. They first came to the attention of Seattle audiences as the singing cabaret duo “The Titillation Twins” earning rave reviews and even performing internationally in Canada and Mexico.
