Magali De La Rosa

I am a 21 year old Hispanic singer/songwriter from a small town in South Texas on the Texas Mexico border that moved to LA about a year ago in order to pursue my dreams of becoming an entertainer in the music and acting fields.
Music lives in my soul, runs through my veins and flutters out through my voice. My father was a musician in a Tejano band Called Grupo Fuego.One of my fondest memories of my child hood was singing along to La Bamba as my dad played it for me and my sister when we were little. Growing up music lived in our home and in my heart. My father is a huge musical influence in my life. My music is definitely a reflection of the people I’ve met and the experiences I have gone through in my life. My music is very dramatic like my personality and embodies a lot of passion. I have been very blessed to have met so many unique people that I can build stories around. I was four years old singing and dancing not really thinking much of what I was doing. I just knew that I had a blast doing it. I was 8 yrs old when I performed in front of a huge crowd of hundreds of people for the first time and knew then that my life had changed forever. My idol growing up was Selena, and her song was the first song I ever sang in front of a big crowd. It was an honor. Many female artists have influenced my music such as Selena, Lauren Hill, Mariah Carey, Deborah Cox, Tina Turner, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Christina Aguilera. Rocio Durcal and Sara Montiel are two women who I also admire that incorporated theater with there music, and that is something I intend on doing with my music. I so admire these women for having power house voices that speak volumes. When I was young I always dreamed about being a real performer like these women, and now my dreams are becoming a reality.
The music that I am performing on my set list is music that showcases versatility and music that all people can enjoy. My set list consists of seven original songs and two covers. All the original music has either been written or co- written by me. Its very important people know that I am a songwriter as well as a singer. My versatility and my crossover potential into the ever growing Latin market are certainly two aspects that I want to showcase in my performance. My powerful, soulful voice is my main attribute and I believe is what sets me apart from other, up and coming young artists. The image I am striving for is one of a singer/songwriter with a unique colorful image that can be a positive for a young generations of all races.
I have been working at my dream since I was just a little girl and now my career is moving foward with the help of my manager and songwriting partner Dean Davies, and the love and support of my wonderful family.
