Bio

Life's experiences, her own and others, are the cornerstone of Magdalena Macdonald's songwriting.
Her influences are 70-80's music, including the likes of Bob Dylan, Beth Neilsen Chapman, Sarah McLachlan and Reba McIntire. On the local Australian scene Gina Jefferies and Tanya Kernaghan play an influential role.
Filled with emotions, both joy and sorrow, she writes from the heart with diversity and energy.

Her list of achievements in a relatively short time is remarkable.
In 2011, after placing 2nd in the Australia’ category at the Australian Songwriters Association Awards Night she was also nominated for the prestigious “Rudy Brandsma Award” for her song “Crosses at the Gate”.
Her heartfelt song, inspired by the Australian bushfires gives an insight into the warmth and genuine emotion she feels.

Her Song "A Man who Works the Land" which was inspired by Australian farming life saw her take out 1st place at the Tamworth Songwriters Association National Award in the Traditional Category in 2010.
She is an inspiring and talented songwriter, with numerous placing in the Australian Songwriters Association Award, Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards and SCALA Awards.

Spanning many genres from Ballads, Rock/Indie, Contemporary and Country, her songs takes the listener on a journey to be remembered.

Song after beautiful song, she tells a story, conveys emotions and fills the listener with joy and sorrow.
