""Forsaken""

Needless to say I wasn’t expecting much when I was asked to review Magdalene’s full-length release “Forsaken”.

Well I don’t know how they did it, but they made an album I enjoyed. Actually I know how they did it. They have incredible song writing, incredible hooks and vocals with range that can make a mediocre song into something incredible. Joanna’s vocals bring me back to the days of Lacuna Coil’s “In a Reverie”; this was a CD that just felt amazing when you listened to it. It didn’t have the production quality that their new albums have but the passion and love behind the music was there to pull it all together. That is the similar feeling I got when listening to “Forsaken”. Not only that, but the music feels powerful, with its rough guitar riffs in songs like “End of Light”, “Addicted” and “Leave”. - Troy Kram of Melodic.net

"Review From Michael J Soldano Jr."

In my business, I hear, see, and work with many, many bands both established and up-and-coming. Some are good, and some are better. But there are also select few that just plain blow me away! One such band is "Magdalene", hailing from Tyler, Texas. This band ROCKS! The songwriting is superb, delivered with a no-holds-barred attitude that makes you listen. Joanna's vocals are truly impressive! She sings with the fire and passion of Janis Joplin, while enjoying the range and ability of Pat Benatar. The wall-of-guitar provided by Peter and Michael is equally impressive. The sound is thick and rich, punctuated by melodic, skillfully executed solos and exquisite tone. Chad and Bret drive the band with their rock solid bottom end. I highly recommend checking out "Magdalene" - and I'd do it sooner than later!!" - Michael J. Soldano Jr
