Bio

Maggie Stiles has been singing all her life, in church, school and as a solo entertainer. She toured with a singing group to Australia and New Zealand in 1972, then to Iran in 1974. In 1989, Maggie received "on-air" experience on FM radio by hosting a daily four-hour country music program. Further performance experience was enhanced by a five week stay on Carnival Cruise Line's Jubilee, where she sang six nights a week from Los Angeles to Puerto Vallarte, Mexico and back.

Since 1990, Maggie has been living in San Diego where she has been entertaining as a solo at VFW halls, Elks lodges and private parties. Maggie's music appeals to a wide range of individuals as she performs a variety of styles, including old rock and roll, Motown, Top 40 country and country rock. She has incorporated teaching a few line dances and has been a big hit even in "non- country" groups. Maggie has a powerful voice that seems to come from her toes. She has a great time on stage, exerting so much energy that the party never seems to stop!

In 1993, Maggie began a relationship with Raven Flight Music to produce a six-song mini-album, released August, 1994. The album contains five up-beat country rock tunes and one country waltz, all written by Rick Perez. The album, called Things Are Looking Up, has received much acclaim since it's release. Though the tunes are aimed for a country format they would do well in Adult Contemporary or light rock formats as well.

During most of 1994, Maggie sang in an all girl trio, Circle of Stone, performing in San Diego and Orange Counties. She also won the San Diego Talent Search for solo artist in August, 1994, sponsored by KSON radio and Guitar Center.

In February, 1995, Maggie signed an agreement with Comstock Records of Scottsdale Arizona, to distribute a single, "Hurricane on the Horizon" to 175 European radio stations and reviewers. With "Poor Man's Heart on the "B" side, the 45 rpm vinyl record is currently receiving airplay in 54 cities throughout Europe on 66 country formatted shows and one pop Top 40 show.

In July, 1995, Maggie won Album of the Year for "Things Are Looking Up" at the People's Choice Award at the Viejas Casino. And in August, 1995, was honored with Album of the Year for "Things..." and Song of the Year for "Poor Man's Heart" by the California Country Music Association, San Diego Region. In 1996 and 1997, Maggie won the title of Female Vocalist and Female Entertainer of the Year from the San Diego Region-CCMA, and Female Vocalist of the Year for the State-CCMA. In 1999, Maggie won “Female Entertainer of the Year” from the North America Country Music Association, Int’l, in Gatlinburg TN. Maggie won Female Entertainer of the Year for San Diego CCMA, again, in 2001.

In August, 1995, Maggie joined the rock and roll band Phoenix, playing many casuals and service clubs in San Diego County. In July of 1996, Phoenix was picked to compete in the annual KSON Battle of the Bands at Viejas Casino. Phoenix won 1997 Band of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year from the California Country Music Association-San Diego Region.

Maggie is also a skilled and creative harmony singer and lends her talents to other artists' studio projects and songwriters' demos. She is member of the Country Music Association - Nashville.

Currently, you can enjoy Maggie’s talents at Singing Hills Resort at Sycuan, in El Cajon CA.
