Bio

William Green is a musical artist that captures and expresses the sentiments of a generation. He is continuously expanding his horizons to make an impact on society by creating a union between music and life. Through his music, he has allowed different genres of contemporary jazz, rhythm and blues, pop and gospel to integrate into a new and unique form.

Green has showcased his charismatic charm and keyboard mastery with audiences around the world while performing nationally with acclaimed artists such as Boney James, Tom Brown, Earl Klugh, Mindi Abair, Peabo Bryson, Cameo, Jennifer Holiday, and Curtis Mayfield. William also had the privilege of appearing with Susan Tedeschi as the opening act for the Rolling Stones. Recently, William was selected as one of the performing artists at the 2010 Atlanta Jazz Festival. In addition, he was co-host of the 2010 Atlanta Jazz Festival Jam Session.

The son of a Baptist Minister and a mother who sang background for Mahalia Jackson, William and his 5 siblings would re-create the entire church service around the family piano, where William would act as music director. William graduated from Chicago Vocational High where he learned how to read, write and compose music. He later furthered his education at Morehouse College and Georgia State University majoring in Commercial Music.

William’s impressive artistry has afforded him to write and produce three CD’s: “Magic Dream”, “Green Valley”, and his upcoming release “Music For Life”. The second CD, “Green Valley”, featured multi-Grammy winning artist Boney James on the track "Lakeshore Drive". His much anticipated third CD was released in August 2010.

William continues to provide his audiences with not only quality music but a display of great showmanship that will capture the audience’s imagination.
