Montreal electro act Hissy Fit recently expanded his ranks to create Magmatic, and hopefully a lot of feel-good and chill out music in the near future. So far, so good.

The duo that call themselves Matt Matic and Magda Matic recently linked up and will be playing a couple of songs at Cagibi on January 25 and a full set at Divan Orange on February 6, alongside another Montreal-based duo, NOIA.

The combination of minimal/progressive beats with beautiful vocals bring songs to an almost spiritual level, delivering music to sit back and enjoy. Matt claims his side project to be more "song-y" and less suited for the dancefloor, but "Shaykah" really does get you going. Only time will tell which direction they go in, but we loved the vibe to that song. Check out their 4-song set, perfect for lounging on a Sunday afternoon.

You might've heard of Hissy Fit at Mutek or Piknic Electronik, but he'll be crossing down the border to play at the 2013 South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas if you get the chance to check that out.
