Bio

Magnolia Road was first formed in 2007 for a one-time show in Western Washington. It went so well that we didn't want to quit.....ever!

Four of our members sing, but our two primary vocalists are Flo Schandl and Sean Clark. Sean is also is a fine guitar and keyboard player, too. Joe Basso plays bass and Tom Ranken plays lead guitar and writes songs.

Everyone loves Flo Schandl. She has a huge heart--and a huge voice. She sings lot of things really well, but she seems to really get excited about the classic rockers like Heart's "Crazy on You," "I've Got the Music in Me" by the Kiki Dee Band, and Led Zeppelin's "Rock 'n' Roll."

Sean Clark is a great guy and has a great musical sense. He has a voice that sounds a bit like Eddie Vedder or maybe John Fogerty. You can always count on him to play the right thing at the right time to make a performance better. The guy is a kick to play with on stage and he is always either laughing with (or at) Tom.... Sean and Tom also play in a classic rock band called The Brakes.

Joe Basso plays bass and sings. He has played in many bands over the years and fronted many of them including High Gravity. Joe is a songwriter and recorded a solo CD before joining up with us. Equally at home on several instruments, he plays bass with Magnolia Road. He lives in Magnolia near Tom.

The lead guitar player is Tom Ranken, who also is the band leader. Tom loves experimenting with new sounds and really enjoys nailing that backing vocal that will really make a song special.

Our newest member is Rob Moya, who plays the drums. Rob instantly established himself as a popular member of the band who can be counted on to be absolutely rock solid with the band's beat. Rob has been playing the drums since fifth grade...and has five kids. Something about that number '5.'

Since that first gig, we have been working hard to become a great band. We have a lot of fun..and so do our audiences!
