Infused with intensity and sincerity, Magnum’s music is driven by a passion for knowledge, redemption, love and life. Ushering in a breath of fresh air with its raw delivery and vivid illustrations of the struggle to get by, it can be called music with morals. “The music looks you straight in the eye, it speaks to the good people being deprived of everything but still maintaining a good heart”, states Magnum. With tracks like “You’re Not My Real Daddy” exploring the up and downs of step-parenting, Magnum humbly navigates male emotions, insecurity, and empowerment.

Playing both the drum and piano, Magnum inherently understands the delicate relationship between artist and song. Working on street teams, continuous writing and vigorous mentorship from professional artists including Smif-n-Wessun, Buckshot and TL Smooth, helped Magnum hone his skills. Proving his rap readiness in legendary venues such as SOB’S, The Lyricist Lounge and The Nyurican Café, Magnum wants his music to speak candidly to his listeners, inspiring them to pursue bigger things. Magnum speaks to mothers struggling to pay the bills, felons having a hard time finding a job, hustlers on the street running after the quick dollar, and people searching for their identity. “I stand for guidance and intelligence in the Hip-Hop community. The purpose of music is to enlighten and feed knowledge, you can still have fun while achieving your goals” says Magnum.

Currently in college pursuing a degree in Psychology, Magnum enjoys an eclectic mix of music ranging from raging rock to ultra cool jazz. He also loves reading and writing both poetry and non-fiction .His unrivaled flexibility is ubiquitous in his work. Magnum blends spoken word, hip-hop and futuristic sound to create a forum where honest discussion is viable and attainable. The music is neither preachy nor judgmental, but rather draws from autobiographical roots with Magnum spewing explosive tales of hardship, constant struggle, emotional appeal and glittering success. With this avant-garde version of hip-hop, Magnum hopes to change the mind of a generation, affirming the beauty of difference, the thrill of analysis and the ebullience of life. “All I need to reach is one person and I’ll be satisfied” states Magnum.
