Bio

Central Florida may not sound like the kind of a place where you would expect to find a budding star of reggae, dancehall, R&B and hip-hop, much less a performer who mesmerizes audiences and writes and produces his own material. But thanks to his persistence, drive and talent that’s exactly what’s happening. David Walker, "Maija Max which means, "Mad Artist from Jamaica" is the younghest of 6 kids, and was born in Kingston, Jamaica, but grew up in Trelawny where he started singing at age 5 in a Sunday School Choir and then at age 13 Reggae parties he wouuld often sneaked out to attend. Raised by his late Great Aunt, Aunt Gwen, this verycalm, dedicated and soul thrilling voice entertainer/songwriter/producers love for music drove him to Rochester, New York where he became one of if not the Hottest Reggae Radio Dejay Upstate New York has ever seen, hosting In A Dance Hall Style on W.I.T.R. 89.7 FM with Daddy Phil and Green Lantern who followed with his then underground Hip-hop Show. Maija Max love for music did not stop there but if anything grew larger as he teamed up with other Local Artists to form the first Upstate New York Reggae/Hip-Hop Group, "Soul Thrillers", performing with and opening shows for such act as Busta Rhymes, Biz Markie, Bush Wick Bill to name a few and later Spragga Benz, Lady Saw, Mr. Vegas, Mercilles to name a few. Over the years Maja Max's style and talented broaden as he mastered the art of combining Hip-Hop, R&B and Reggae to form a style so unique, he calls it "The New Age Rangalistic Flava" which is Raggamufin, but Suttle to an extent when pleasing the ladies.
Maija Max was featured on the Bug Jar Compilation CD and on his own LP in 1997 "Call Me", Maximum Niceness in 2000 his crew's 12 inch, and his single "Lick Me Up" and "FINALLY" in 2002 on his own Productions, Mad Antics Productions.
When asked to describe is style, Maija Max's responded, "It's a bit between Sean Paul, Shaggy but with an Edgier and unpredicatable flow" He feels that music is in his bones and that's why he will continue to elivate his Rangalistic Flava to the highest dimensions possible and like all truly creative Artists, Maija Max is not just a trendsetter and magnificent writer/producer/crowdpleaser, but a studious educator who delivers a natural flavor in a wicked, yet cool and proffessional manner.
