Mai Lan

In 2005, on the "Sheitan" soundtrack, a mellow and mesmerizing voice whispers words of a raw and direct violence over flower power hippy guitar melodies.

"Gentiment..." Mai Lan's first recording becomes a classic with countless covers appearing on the web.

But at only 23, the young artist, a singer and songwriter, decides to take it slow.

She plays acclaimed performances / gigs at La Java and Le Bus, and takes the opportunity to explore new musical territories and collaborate with DJ Mehdi (Ed Banger Records), Nikkfurie (La Caution), Nicolas Bogue (Telepopmusik, Sébastien Tellier) or more recently the French electronica duet Donovans.

Mai Lan is a real artist. She blends with her environment with a troubling sensuality.

As confident in English as she is in French, she first seduces you with her soft but never cutesy voice, before you discover a darker and haunting side, reminiscing Likke Li, Santogold or the Go Team.
Lan loves music. She knows no frontiers and embarks you on a trip through folk, pop and electronica.
Her songs are moving, transcending, taking you to shady places, then awaking and intoxicating you without ever taking the easiest path.
