Maine ONE is one of the most exciting artists to step on the rap scene this millennium. It is rare to find, in this era of quick party songs and one hit wonders, vivid music with substance and having an enduring message. The electrifying music that Maine ONE is catapulting to the forefront of rap, is going to shock the masses of the Hip Hop community. Maine ONE has an intricate flow. A style that is interlaced with tells of the struggles of the streets, and everyday life that we have come to deeply associate with Hip Hop. He creatively blends that sound into a message of prevailing against these daily trials with the Gospel of Christ.
The Ypsilanti, MI raised M.C. has lived through the street lifestyle that is glorified by much of the Hip Hop culture today. Maine ONE started out his Hip Hop career as a battle M.C., building up a reputation as a freestyle maverick known as Maine Event. Upon this foundation he became a member of the groups Lyrical Assassins and Two Faced, performing in the underground circuit and occasional mainstream of Detroit’s music scene. Maine ONE has performed across Michigan and several other states at such venues as Saint Andrews Hall, Club International, The Zoo Bar and The Apartment to name a few. He has also performed at shows with such acts as The Rock Bottom Family, Detroit’s Moody, P.L. ( 5x BET Freestyle Friday Champion), Moe Badis & Snake of Gotham Records, Royce Da 5’9, Street Lords and many more.
Maine ONE was delivered from a life of reckless abandon through the Gospel of Jesus Christ , and now uses his former lifestyle as a testimony to those looking for the Truth. Maine ONE has redirected his flow to save souls and spit the real message of salvation through Jesus Christ. In doing this he has formulated a new style of Rap, that delivers the gospel without alienating the Christian or non Christian listeners. He believes that speaking to the lost is truly a living testament of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Going out as sheep amongst wolves, with songs like Eyez of Truth and Krunk for Christ, shows the range, diversity and talent of Maine ONE. Starting the songs off with a raw gritty focus but then in mid verse you’re switched to a revelation of a person with a relationship with Christ is just another showcase of this MC’s ability. Maine ONE’s life experiences are so broad and vividly depicted in his music, there’s a situation in every song that I think each and every listener can relate to.
