Mainly Fine are a Melbourne-based band who are unafraid of the label “intelligent folk-rock”. They have been described (by their friends) as “My Friend the Chocolate Cake meets the Waifs”. Their sound is strongly acoustic with beautifully blended vocals, warm melodies and a touch of jazz.

Biography

Mainly Fine is a Melbourne - based band that burst onto the local music scene in 2004, playing at a housewarming party in Hampton East. They were enthusiastically received, with comments such as “Wow, they’re hot!”, “I’d pay to see them!” and “Is there any more beer?” being overheard in the crowd.

A mildly successful appearance in the 2004 National Campus Band Competition led to one of their finely-crafted songs being selected for the 2005 release DIYORAMA: a compilation of music from bands associated with Monash University.

The sound of Mainly Fine is strongly acoustic, with beautifully blended vocals, warm melodies and a touch of jazz. They are unafraid of the label intelligent folk-rock and have been described as “My Friend the Chocolate Cake meets the Waifs”.
