We're gonna guess that you, like us, didn't blow a proverbial load when you heard Kings Of Leon were going to open tonight's Features show at Exit/In. And we're also gonna venture that you didn't rush out and buy yourself tickets, 'cause, well, it's the freaking Features -- they play here all the time, and as awesome as they are, really, who the fuck buys advance tickets for a local show, amiright?
And to further extrapolate, we're gonna go out on a limb and guess you ain't got shit to do tonight, 'cause all the guest list spots that you can usually count on have been given out to foreign journalists. (Don't they know that there's a Tea Party going on this weekend? Aren't they afraid we'll throw them in the harbor? They better well should be -- this is the gawddamn Real Amurrica gawddammit, not some mopey little island in the North Atlantic.) So yeah, what are you gonna do to get your rock fix, assuming you can't rationalize paying $7 to see Ned Zepplin and Dan Halen, as clever they might be?
My suggestion would be to download the Majestico single "Bright White Lady" from der Bandcamp. The, uh, "A-side" is a charming little slab of scuzzy, fuzzy glam-rock that sounds like Mott the Hoople riffing on The Velvet Underground's "I'm Waiting for the Man," or as we say in the biz, "It's my motherfuckin' jam!" The, uh, "B-side" -- I guess, I'm not entirely sure what the proper terminology is regarding these newfangled download thingamabobs -- "Head & Feet" is a bit more brooding, a little less rocking, but definitely worth the bandwidth.
My other suggestion for those of you staying home on this dreary winter's eve? Watch all these Mott the Hoople videos I've posted, 'cause it don't get more rock 'n' roll than Mott the Hoople. ...

Remember that thing on the balcony? That thing we told you about with the guy in the hat? It's called BalconyTV, and it has millions of videos shot worldwide featuring artists playing their songs on terraces, verandas, loggias, lanais and porticos. You know, balconies. Well, since we first told you about the site, they've added loads of local artists to their Nashville page, among them frequent commenter Jas Patrick, haircut rockers Hot Chelle Rae, The Kingston Springs, Natalie Prass and plenty of heartfelt singer-songwriters I've never heard of.
Tip of the hat to WOTT for reminding us to go check up on BalconyTV. - The Nashville Scene

Bio
It's disturbing just how deeply the whole Us vs. Them mentality has saturated our modern lives. Think about it for a moment. It surrounds us: race, religion, politics, class, artistic tastes, sports (well, I guess that's ok), business, and on and on and on. Sides are chose, lines are drawn and vitriol is unleashed with with fire and fury.
We need a unifier. We need a hero to rally around. We need someone to bring us together... Or maybe we just need a distraction from it all. Some great work of art - a sound, perhaps - that finally lets us drop our guard for a moment and enjoy life. Regardless of what we need, can we all just agree why we need it? Good. We're on the right.
Enter majestico.
He is a man, this one known as majestico. Nothing more, nothing less. Well maybe a little more; he's a song and dance man, you see. And he's here for you and for me and anyone within earshot. And I mean anyone. His music is for all. Hipsters, greasers, record store dorks, hippies, trust-fund hippies, your folks, the Greek kids, actual Greeks, cute girls, ugly dudes, white boys, black guys, Democrats, Republicans, sinners, saints, jocks, nerds, CEOs, mail room clerks, the aged, little-bitty babies... majestico is for all of you.
The band majestico is actually a five piece collective cultivate their psychedelic surf rock in the sprawling in Nashville, Tennessee. This collective consists of guitarist and lead singer Graham, guitarist Ben, Bass Guitarist Adam, Keyboardist Mitch, and drummer Johnathan. After forming in 2008 Majestico has become one of Nashville's most progressive original acts in recent memory. Their sound transcends presumption while retaining an arrogant self awareness that creates a flamboyant mixture of enriched loudness. Influenced by James Brown, T. Rex, and The Pixies, Majestico's glammy beard jams are intricately designed amicable punches to the face. Sean Maloney of Nashville Scene describes the Majestico sound as a charming little slab of scuzzy, fuzzy glam-rock that sounds like Mott the Hoople riffing on The Velvet Underground's "I'm Waiting for the Man," or as we say in the biz, "It's my motherfuckin' jam!" Majestico is currently writing and recording music for their upcoming album.
