"MaJiKer is the French Mark Ronson"

"He's the French version of Mark Ronson, producing, arranging and launching the careers of the best of current pop chanteuses. MaJiKer is modern: unusual, unique, abstract and compelling." - Ken Russell - The Times

"Mesmerizing"

"Mesmerizing synth-pop" - Arjanwrites.com

"Eccentric, uniquely styled pop"

"What may appear to be an eccentric oddity on first listen gradually reveals itself to be a strong, uniquely styled pop album after a few listens. If you stick with it, you will reap the rewards and find yourself being nagged by many of the hooks and catches that saturate the album. If enough people allow themselves to enter MaJiKer's offbeat musical world then the Paris-based UK expat may well end up garnering the same critical acclaim and commercial success as his famous French friend." - Music OMH

"Best of 2009"

"Body-Piano-Machine is amongst EQ's favourite albums of 2009. Rich in substance, style an sophistication, MaJiKer is able to weave electronic pop in away that is inviting, dramatic and emotional." - EQ

Bio

MaJiKer (aka Matthew Ker) is a fresh talent who film director Ken Russell recently dubbed "the French Mark Ronson" (The Times - Oct 2009). His solo album - "Body-Piano-Machine" is out on Gaymonkey Records.

On-stage MaJiKer creates mesmerising layers of body percussion and synth loops, while his collaborators add movement and drama to deliver a truly theatrical experience. Having toured worldwide with Camille
and appeared on such institutions as "Later With Jools Holland", MaJiKer’s
ever evolving live experience is interactive and full of surprises, making each performance memorable. His new format - The Lab - sees him curate some of Europe's finest talent as special guests, including Temposhark and Camille.

MaJiKer's relationship with Camille has made her an international success. Her award winning albums Le Fil and Music Hole - climbed to the top of the charts in France. The two met while studying music in the UK. Their shared love for pop became a bond that grew into a successful collaboration, through which they developed their distinctive style. A collage of body percussion and minimal vocal textures wrapped in beautiful melody - applauded by critics and fans alike and drawing comparisons to Kate Bush and Björk.

MaJiKer expands his trademark sound with his own album, "Body-Piano-Machine" where his vocals are complimented by guests including Camille, Indi Kaur (a muse of Talvin Singh) and soul diva China Moses.

Originally hailing from Birmingham, MaJiKer now lives and works in Paris.
