"ATX SPOTLIGHT: MAJOR GRIZZ RELEASE EP"

Friday night you should make plans in your schedule to go over to Sidewinder and celebrate the release of another up-and-coming Austin act, Major Grizz. The group are lined-up to release their new EP, brandishing great pop-rock in the vein of other local acts like A. Sinclair; it’s hook-laden, but with an appropriate amount of bite. In talking with the band, they’ve got some exciting merch prepared for attendees; they’ve screen printed each EP by hand, and numbered them as well, so you’re going to get your hands on a rarity…not to mention catching a great live show. They’ll be joined by Sik Mule and Ghostbunny. - Austin Town Hall

"Major Volume"

There they are. A big stack of the new self-titled Major Grizz vinyl EP’s are ready to go; carefully spray-painted, screen-printed, labeled, individually numbered and packaged with great care, a D.I.Y. undertaking done especially for the fans. No CD copies, just the magic vinyl touch – ready to blow away speakers at a moment’s notice.

Aaron Blackerby, PJ, Jason De La Rosa and Dan Garza describe their sonic adventures as loud and melodic, made by “the happiest angry rock band you’ve ever heard.” Give the EP a spin and get bowled over with a multitude of those infectious happily-angry hooks, string-splitting shreds and bullet-speed drums. It’s damned fun when angry is this ecstatic.

Don’t miss out on the Major Grizz EP release show tonight at The Sidewinder, 715 Red River. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the bill includes sets by Houston stomp-rocker groove-blasters Sik Mule and AMM fave Ghostbunny. Do not leave the earplugs at home. Major Grizz delivers the decibels. Recommended.

"MAJOR GRIZZ PACKS PUNCH AND ENERGY INTO NEW SONG ‘LIFE IS GOOD (FOR THE FOOL)’"

Getting the word out about your music is important for any band, and local Austin indie act Major Grizz is no exception. The group recently released a self-titled EP. There are plenty of good tracks on the release that locals can get into, including the song “Life Is Good (For The Fool.)”

Packing tremendous punch and energy into the track, Major Grizz sounds like an enthusiastic group hoping to take on big things, all while trying to balance day jobs and playing music. After hearing “Life Is Good” we hope it all works out. - Austin.com
