"Netherlands and Belgium"

"They are defined best as a remarkable cooperation between saloon rockers and an orchestra. As if the desert has hidden them under an enormous rag red of velours."

- -John Gjaltema, altcountry.nl

"TwangOff"

“This was a Major’s League display of teamwork. Talent and Repertoire got them to the show. Stage Presence got them on base. And Fan Appreciation drove them home. Supported by the most enthusiastic and involved fans of the evening, Majors Junction turned in a Play-Off caliber performance the Official Scorers recognized with MVP honors. Call them the Allman Sisters. Because if the Allman Brothers lightened up, smiled a little, and let women join their band, this is what they’d sound like. Showing a mastery of multiple tempos, MJ simply nailed this TwangOff. By the way, dude, that artwork on the bass drum? That’s their album cover.” - TwangOff.com

"Montpelier, VT"

"Mulcahy writes the sober achy ballads and kicky jumpers of the country music style, and he's good., ...Here's a man going down the road with a lot on his mind, but he's not in Kansas anymore., ...licks knock on Dylan's and The Band's door..."
- Jim Wallace - The Montpelier Bridge

"This Band is Simply Hot!"

“This band has it all going on. They sound original, fresh and very talented. Great Vocals, Great Harmonies, Great Songs and a Smooth Production on this release. Majors Junction style is just killer. The band is tight and delivers some of the coolest licks on their instruments that we have heard in sometime. They move from Southern Rock, to Roots/Americana Country and Blues as smoothly as butter on a hot plate.
This band is just simply hot!” - Roots Music Report

"Burlington, VT"

"Chicago's Majors Junction are a tuneful roots act with enegetic arrangemnts and dextereous musicianship. The groups latest record, Confluence, twists Americana into colorful new shapes without sacrificing an ounce of authenticity."
- Seven Days, Vermont

"Every element on this album comes together perfectly. A strong country sound with influences of blues, bluegrass, Midwest rock and rich vocals makes it very unique. Fans of any music genre deserve the opportunity to discover Majors Junction." -Mark D. - US99.5 America's Country Station

"Chicago Band to lookout for..."

“…. a strong local debut from Majors Junction. The compact disc “A Desert Oasis” is full of strong song writing, musicianship, and vocals all good things in their own right but in combination, what is the cliché? ‘The whole is greater than the sum its parts’. I really like this compact disc and I hope you do too.”
- Richard Milne - 93.1FM – WXRT

"Billboard Award Winning Songwriter"

“Very engaging groove. Lyrics tight…you’re “Doin’ It Right”! Keep it up!”
- Billboard.com - Billboard

**Biography**

Rich textures created by the quintet have been described as “Plush Lonesome Western Blues.” Attracting listeners who embrace the roots, Majors Junction produces a diverse meld of country honky-tonk blues with folk undertones and hints of bluegrass, rock & roll, and reggae. It’s a unique sound that celebrates individuality and hard work, two qualities the band shares with its home town of Chicago.

The band came together in the fall of 2002 to elaborate on a recording project of award winning singer/songwriter's, Mike Mulcahy and Marc Johns. Johns continues to contribute to Majors Junction but has passed the lead guitar role on to Jim Croke and/or Brian Wilke. They, along with singers Heather O’Brien and Kiley Ruggiero, drummer Colin Williams and stand-up bassist Ira Sussman create a unique brand of roots music that will keep your toe tapping.

Majors Junction can be regularly seen and heard around Chicago playing clubs like Martyrs’ and the Hideout as well as honky tonks and bowling alleys like Lincoln Square Lanes and The Horseshoe. MJ also performs at festivals like the Taste of Chicago and Greeley Stampede in Colorado.

Their recently completed their third CD, Good vs Evil and are in the studio working on their 4th coming album. Their music tells the stories about life, love, death, mental struggles and triumphs. So put the top down on your ’72 Eldorado and cruise a stretch of road that hasn’t been touched in a while.

A recent review dubbed catching a Majors Junction show as, “A lot like robbing a Louisville bank, then escaping on a Harley through the back hills of Kentucky." It went on to note, "Audiences in both a beat joint in San Francisco or a Broadway bar in Nashville would tip their hat to Majors Junctions' fun-loving vibe – a vibe that could run away straight from Chicago all the way to Folsom Prison."

Melding organs, horns, fiddles, banjos, mandolins and working with some of the best musicians in Chicago Majors Junction will soon complete its fourth album scheduled for release late winter.
