Bio
Both artists create a unique union of Americana and European folk music.
Since 2008, together they crossed the United States and Europe. They played among others in the U.S. - in the
Millennium Park (Pritzker Pavilion) in Chicago, the Lotus Festival, Old Town School of Folk Music, and in Europe
at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Vienna Jazz Festival in Austria, andWOODSTOCK Festival in Poland.Outline of the achievements testifies the artistry of music performed by them. They recorded four albums together, also five other with their individual projects. Thanks to their originality they were noticed by prominent peopl
in the music industry such as Stanley Jordan, Robby Lakatos or Osvaldo Golijov. It's amazing how two musicians
can fill the stage sounding like a full band. MAK Duo is undoubtedly so unique due to singer's charisma and the
genius of the guitarist. Andreas plays guitar using taping technique, also the guitar body serves him as a
percussion instrument.
Andreas was awarded a scholarship of the Sundance Institute for his film compositions, which once a year is
given only to six people from around the world.
Megitza is a true concert revelation. She is a finalist of Poland's talent show, Must Be The Music - Tylko Muzyka.
"There is nothing as terrifying as witnessing the reincarnation of an old
prophet's soul in a voice of a young artist" - Osvaldo Golijov
"Kapsaliss two-handed steel-string parts frequently create the illusion
of three guitars" - Guitar Player Magazine
Megitza - voice, acoustic bass
