Makeout Videotape

Makeout videotape is the loving brainchild of two charming young men named Mac DeMarco and Alex Calder, two expats of the republic of Edmonton, Alberta. Fresh off a move and unaccustomed to the lonely wet grey days of a Vancouver winter, Mac began to write brazen guitar pop songs in an attempt to lure fresh faced herds of madmoiselles to cure those soggy blues. By the end of the month of April he had birthed the beauty that is the Heat Wave EP. May saw Makeout Videotape play their first show, in which Sean Nicolas Savage painted his frail nude body entirely blue. By the end of July Makeout videotape had played most key venues in Vancouver including nights hosted by MyGayHusband!!! (Blast Ramp), Tyler Fedchuk (Nightshift), Expendable Youth (Far Away), Andrew Andrew Andrew (Sailing) and Tristan Orchard (No More Strangers).
The much venerated Music Waste Festival earned them the accolade of a bonafide Vancouver buzz band and they are also poised to play at the nascent Olio Festival. Serendipity seemingly suckling their teets, Makeout Videotape was personally asked to tour with the much talked about Japandroids this upcoming September. Watch out for the infectious hooks of these fine young gentlemen coming to a town near you very soon!
