Bio

Take five guys from Barrie, Ontario and mix in an almost sickening obsession with music. Shake them up and add a touch of Underoath, Brand New and even Blink182 influences and out comes a freshly baked band known as Makeshift Memory.
Their line-up was finalized in December of 2005, but the band had been rocking since spring 2003. In that time, they’ve released a three song EP and a seven song LP, entitled “The Arrows Inside” (2005).
With Matthew Bloom on bass, Corey Steingard on drums, Matthew McCready playing guitar, Phil Dollin covering the back-up vocals and guitar and Steve Baril putting the finishing touches on with his vocals, Makeshift Memory is hardly forgettable.
The band has already spread their unmistakable sound all over Ontario and some of Quebec. Makeshift Memory is almost indescribable due to their knack for combining all of their favourite genres into one nameless category.
“We play music that will make your knees shake and your head bop,” says Bloom.
Their dedication, as a band and individually, is only surpassed by their desire to be rocking out on stage for a living.
“I would give anything to be a musician for the rest of my life,” says McCready. “Even if it means living out of a suitcase.”
It’s clear that these guys aren’t going to stop until they play in front of 1000s of people, many, many times. Touring is their main goal right now, and they have a chance of lifetime coming up this summer. Makeshift Memory will be playing the Vans Warped Tour in Barrie this August in front of 100s of music-loving punk-rockers. These guys will be sure to stand out from the crowd, so watch out world, here comes Makeshift Memory.
