Bio
Makeshift Policy originated from a high school in Ancaster, Ontario. They formed the band in 2002 and with the original members: Dennis, Eric, and Grant. During the first few months, many songs were written, of which very few actually made it into a recording. In 2003, the band decided to record a demo, so they contacted a former teacher and good friend to help them out. Out of the many songs written, seven songs were recorded onto the first EP aptly entitled 'the ep', which was released in april of 2004.
After a few months, and more new material, makeshift entered a battle of the bands in Brantford. They were fortunate enough to win first prize of recording an EP at A.D.S. Productions. This EP, 'At The Strike Of A Match', was released on January 21st 2005.
Sometime after the CD release and playing these new songs at shows, more songs were written and it was decided that they needed a fuller sound on stage. Grant left the bass to play lead guitar, which left a gap to be filled. After playing with some talented bass players, Tisch was the one who eventually stuck. Coinsidently, he came from the same high school; although he is a couple years younger.
Since having landed a bass player, new songs are consistently being written and previewed at shows. In March 2006 we recorded a three song demo. Soon after, we signed with an indie label out of the UK -- Lapesadilla Records, with who we just released another three song demo on November 27,2006.
We'd like to thank everyone who has supported the us and who continues to support. See you around.
